Organizing

  Our Organizing and Advocacy department encourages working people who have decided to speak up together for better livelihoods. That assistance, tailored to each workplace, may include strategic advice, help in gathering support from other unions, attendance at rallies, communications work, and other coordination requested by the union. Advocacy work extends beyond initial organizing to offer support for all unions in contract negotiations, strikes, taking the side of all workers at the Legislature, and spreading the word on issues that affect all workers. More generally, the department takes a leading role at the state labor federation in building solidarity with all workers who seek to better their lives.
